It’s been a while…

I apologize for the lack of updates. In July, things at work got extremely busy and keeping up with writing and my duties at home got the best of me. In addition, the success rate I had early on in this project has slowed almost to a crawl. I still should've posted an update or two and for that I apologize. It’s now Thanksgiving weekend and I have some time to reacquaint myself with writing.

First, I did get one record back during my hiatus: The Stupid Girl 7" single by Garbage (Signed by Butch Vig). The buyer, Mark was nice enough to sell it back to me for the cost of an unsigned replacement. He was patient enough to set it aside while I found a copy in the US. He even kept it close by as he moved halfway across the country. I can’t thank him enough. I’ve been in contact with the owners of Elastica’s self-titled album and Bjork’s Debut but haven’t been able to complete the deals for one reason or another.

I’ve also received a flat “NO” from the owner of Liz Phair’s Whip-Smart and Smashing Pumpkins’ Siamese Dream. The Foo Fighters debut album was apparently sold at a record show as well.

It’s often said there are no original ideas anymore, but I really thought mine was unique. Imagine my surprise when a good friend of mine gave me a copy of “Old Records Never Die: One Man’s Quest For His Vinyl + His Past”. Not only has my idea been done, but it’s been done extremely well. (I highly recommend this book.) It won’t stop me from my pursuit, but it most likely won’t have a second life as a book. That was never my goal anyway, so nothing is really lost.

I hope to be writing much more often. Thanks for your patience.
